Beg to differ, but hammocks and group summaries show the elapsed duration i.e from the earliest early start date until the latest early finish date, not the sum of the durations.
Try using the $tmp functionality in Global change, or use Excel.

u can go to > format >organize >and there is a form "Group By" , so u can see total, click on that box, there is option top or bottom, then organize ....u can see the result.
but i dont understand your question, what to do with global change...? can u explain on that so i can help....
I tried it (CDI) but not worked because the variable assumes the value of OD on each Activity and not the sum of all OD. Did you understand ? I need the sum of all OD and store this sum in a variable that i can use in a global change.

Nilo,
First
Go to: Custom Data Items > Activity tab and create Sum Orig Dur (SODR) and type as N (Numeric).
Second
Go to: Global Change > Change tab > Then: SODR=EQ=OD and Run.
You will get the duration for each individual activity and the total duration for each coding.

Thought Nilo is asking for the subtotal/total figures as appearing on summary bars. Anyway, what is your feedback Nilo?
Steven, I couldnt find &tmp in P3 help. What is the full name of the function?

Hi,
Use Hammock activity. The function is same like subtotal bar. It will give the sum of OD for each grouping. Then you can store it as CDI.

Are you sure u dont want to try this outside P3 ? Trying to Subtotal the grouping by activity codes in Excel could be one alternative.
Also try looking at Resources if CDI dont serve your purpose.

Perhaps you could try to store it as a Custom data item or as a Resource.
