Thanks Katalin - I had already considered that workaround.
One of my colleagues here actually came up with the solution. It was to force P3 into a reset of this option by dragging the dividing line that separates acitivity columns and bars all the way to the left so no bars are visible. When the dividing line is dragged right again to display the activity columns, the option is available normally again.
Thanks Frank

Can you check in your other P3 project file, there "Show visible columns only" is working or not? If not then I think you can load P3 again. But for the time being you can follow Andrews suggestion.

You can make it even without "Show visible columns only".
According ot P3s logic if you left unchecked this mark P3 will print out all columns defined in the current layout. So all youve to do is to copy current layout to a new one and arrange the columns you want to be printed out.
Best, regards

To put tick in "Show visible columns only" first you have to tick "Activity Columns" then only you will be able to tick "Show visible columns only" box.

To go around this problem, try to write 0 width (Format, Columns, Width) for all the columns You dont want to see (or print).

There is a workaround here but no proper solution. Does anyone know what this problem is?

Please check if column and/or bar areas are display on screen. If you have selected Resource profile or curve only, the box is disabled.

When you look at the program do you see the columns as well.
If not that may be the problem.
Or maybe you need to run Fix it
