Thanks , The Project Team,

Could you be more specific in the incorporation of the weighted values in the schedule.

I am very weak in CDI and GlobaL Change.

So,please, could you inform about this in more detail.

I also need information on the calculation of Estimated planned quantities that can be at any cut off date within the planned period.

like if i have to put a cut off date say 31dec02 as a milestone and need to know how much work i have to perform till 31dec02.

can you please explain me this , cos i tried filters and global change but that cannot work.

Please advise me you all specialists.

Thanks and Best regards.

Hi there Nishikant,

I have mailed around the guys here, and this is our preferred / most common way of weighting a programme.

Im sure there is a better method - but nonetheless, this is our simple way !!

We create an activity resource called "weight" (good name!?!) and using the global change facility, assign it a value. This is most often done by copying over the activity duration. Then we go in in and manually edit some of the entries where the duration is not directly proportional to the effort required.

Other weighings are the man-hour resource.

By using a simple resource in this way, you can get "weighted" progress curves etc that reflect the work done as a reflection of the percentage complete.

Does this brief description assist you at all - or have we missed the point ??

Keep on Planning !

Probably the weightages are given baseed on product of the cost and quantity to get uniformity and then getting the actual weightages.

But my predicament is as o how i should allocate these into P3 . I am waiting for an answer from you all specialists since the past 3 days and could find none .

i must say i did try importing the data to excel and exporting the same oto P3 , but to no avail.

can anybody please help me.

Thanks in advance .
