I presume you want to compare P3e/c and MS Project Server;
P3e/c, or PM5 as the current name is, is much more simple than MS Project Server or 2007 Server
you will easily understand what I mean when you know that you will need the following products to have MS Project 2007 Server running:
MS Windows 2003 Server SP2
IE 7.0
MS SQL Server 2005 with the last patches and updates
MS SharePoint Services last release
MS Portal Server last release
MS Project 2007 Professional
all these items are mandatory and cannot be replaced by anything else, MS Project does not want to work with anything but pure MS products.
Setting up all this stuff can be as fast as a few hours or as long and nightmare as several days.
On the other hand, Primavera PM5 only needs MS Windows Server (2000 or 2003), a database (Oracle, SQL Server, ...), and you will install the software rather quickly.
This post is definitely oriented, but everything is real
