Washington Group International Project Controls Engineer

As Project Controls Cost Analyst at Washington Group International for Common Sulfur Project (CSP) at the job site Doha and Ras Laffan, Qatar, specific duties and job responsibilities include:
– Five (5) months field rotation with QatarGas Common Sulfur Project (QG CSP) in Qatar until June 2007.
– Lead responsibility for compiling QG CSP Monthly Internal Report and Office of the President Report to support I/P Business Unit review.
– Updates the progress curves and earned value performance trends for QG CSP. Validates progress reported in PTS (Project Tracking System).
– Updated Engineering Master Document List status for QG CSP.
– Provides cost coding of requisitions/purchase orders for Procurement & Accounting.
– Report the hours spent on specific changes as requested by Change Management Department.
– Keep Project Controls supervision and Project Team informed of progress details and costs achieved against plans. Provide early warning of potentially unfavorable trends and monitor the activities to correct.
– Support preparation of the Client Weekly Report, Client Monthly Report and Internal Cost Report.
– Assign budget codes for requisitions in MARIAN (material handling software) application.
– Contributed to the schedule re-baseline effort: aligning Project Tracking System (PTS) milestone dates with the Contract Master Schedule activities.
– Involved with the compilation of the EAC (Estimate at Completion) for the project, collecting staffing plan information and summarizing data (work-hours and $ by task, by discipline, by position).
– Estimate to complete and track the cost for Construction Management expenses (i.e. housing and accommodation, cars, communication, IT equipment).
– Participate on Safe-Unsafe Safety Audit with the Client at the job site.
– Participate on the Weekly Site Walk along with Client to visually validate the construction progress achieved.
– Prepare desktop guidelines for the work performed and train other team members.
