I was a part of the first group of dedicated Project Control Apprentices to undertake the apprenticeship which was created in the north east of England between Siemens PLC Metals UK, AMEC, Aker Kvaerner (Now Jacobs), K Home Engineering and Alpha +. The training was provided on the job and also by NETA (North East Training Agencies), Darlington Technical College and Teesside University.

The GCR Project is for the EPC of a green-field plant to facilitate Automated Central Well Wash to all wells in all three fields and the enhanced Gas Lift and Gas Injection on the El Gassi Field.  GEA is a mature field operation with the output having depleted to 20,000bbl.

Was promoted to Project Controls Supervisor and was respsponsible for recruiting my back-to-back replacement, 2 Cost Control Supervisors and for establishing an integrated Cost / Scheduling and Estimating Work/Cost Breakdown structure to take the Project through full execution.
