I was a part of the first group of dedicated Project Control Apprentices to undertake the apprenticeship which was created in the north east of England between Siemens PLC Metals UK, AMEC, Aker Kvaerner (Now Jacobs), K Home Engineering and Alpha +. The training was provided on the job and also by NETA (North East Training Agencies), Darlington Technical College and Teesside University.

This time was spent training the fields of Planning, Estimating, Cost Control, Procurement and Expediting to gain an appreciation of each field and to understand the overall logistics of Project Control. As well as this we had various engineering based training courses which all major disciplines (Civils, Mechanical, EIC) to gain an appreciation.
