Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

We produce Gannt charts for our supervisors with duration and manhours. Is thier a way of indicating the number of men required per activity. If I use the resource spread sheet I can use the Budgeted Units / Time but this option does not seem to be available on a Gannt chart. Any Ideas?

Alex,
imagine that on some activity you need 2 resource units with 50% workload. In this case you shall define both - the number of resources to be used and their workload. How to do it in P3e?

Can you clarify what you mean by part time??

Because P3e can display % of resource per time period??

Cheers

Alex
Alex,
please read my previous post. If resources were assigned part time then you will receive wrong information on their necessary numbers. Even worse that this wrong information is used for resource leveling. With part time assignments you will get wrong resource constrained schedules and wrong reports too.

Yes you can display resource unit per time period easily.

In you graph option "resource histogram"

All you need to do is in "Acitivity usuage profile options"

then go to "Graph tab"

Then select "calculate average"

Then select "Base on hour per time unit"

That way you will see your resource per time period

You can change the time period to different unit ie days, week, months

However, the only disadvantage in 4.1 is you can not display Maximum unit per time period like what P3 does

HTH

If you use part time assignments it will not help. Primavera does not distinguish between two people assigned for 50% of their work time and one person assigned full time. So you will not be able not only to receive reports but also to schedule correctly part time assignments if resources are restricted. The results will be wrong.

You will need to store the number of men in a user defined integer field, created by running a global change that divides remaining manhours by remaining duration
