Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

Hello,
my customer would like to enter all the project specs in MS-Excel, as he feels more confortable than in the relevant P3 forms.
Is it by any means possible to export/import project codes and obtain the same result as for the activity data custom items?
Thanks,
Alexandre

Hi there Andrew,

We have tweaked the code so that it will (hopefully) show the slash, i.e. the \\\\\\\\\ character.

Thanks for the observation.

Go to debug mode and check the vba code. I’m pretty sure that something wrong with project path or project name.
Be aware - you have to put short path in any Macro.
For instance:
c:progra~1 instead of c:Program files
Don’t hesitate to contact me personally.
Best regards
Andrew

Hi, there
Make sure P3 is already running on your computer (even with no project opened). That may help.

I checked the spreadsheets. For the spreadsheet to work is it necessary that p3win directory exists in the C directory or will it work even if the p3win directory exists in any other subfolder in the c: directory. It just displays exiting RA as soon as I run any macro.

Can anyone help?

Thanks

I dont recall the name of the file, but they are *.xls, with macros written to import/export activity codes, resources and WBS.
