Hi All,

Frank’s suggestion is very valid. Build up a standard coding structure, which will work for most projects, and transfer this coding structure to new projects. The only code which changes, is normally the breakdown of areas, what I normally do if the area breakdown is already in excel, is to copy paste it to P3. This takes a few minutes, and does not require extra software, and it is simplistic. There is obviously always going to be the odd code to be added to your standard structure, do these as you find a need for them. This can be done in companies, and helps especially where multi-project scheduling is used.

A useful thing is to print this standard coding structure in a large format, and put it on your wall, so that when you need to do a filter, you can straightaway, see the codes you require. Standard coding strucrtures are also useful, that in time you will get to know them of by heart.

You can also Transfer (button in Data, Activity Codes window) if the same coding structure has been used on another P3 project.

There are some spreadsheets supplied with the P3 cd’s which can do this.
