Hi All,

I am currently working on a schedule that requires us to do a monthly future bucket planning. We are looking at about 50 distinct resources and would like to find out what is the best way to do the loading, apart from manually keying the hours in one by one.

The loading patterns of the resources vary from constant (eg. 100% throughout project duration) to Variable (Random Fluctuations). Is it possible to export the resource assignments by month in Excel and then Importing it back in?

If so, how should I go about it?

Regards,

Benjamin

Hello,

As far as I understand I can't import future period bucket by using excel. So I need to type in the values manually.

I have a further question than,

the moment I move the "current data date" and schedule my project I see that all my future remaining units are recalculated by primavera in other words I lose all the remaining units that I typed in manually. I understand that the program is trying to recalculate the data because of changed remaining duration. But is there any way to stop this recalculating and having no changes in my future remaining units?

Thanks for your help...

yes you can can export the resources allocation on a month by month basis but your can not import when they will be expedended this is driven by the schedule dates.

if you are using myPrimavera or P6 Web you can use Planning Resources

This data can then be used in some reports and can also be used as the summary data for a project.  In the Projects View, there is an option under Project Details, Settings, Summarized Data, 'Summarize project based on'.  If this is set to "High Level resource planning", then the project's summary data will reflect this resource information instead of the detailed resource information in the project in Project Management.
