Hii,

I get 0 duration % complete for one particular set of activity codes at the WBS level, but all other activities which are in progress/ completed rolls up to some value in the WBS level.

The activity type assiged is Fixed Durations & Units for all activities.

Please advice.

Paul

I am not sure what you are trying to summarize in terms of % complete but some things can not be summarized by % complete becasue you can use 3 different types of % complete. Duration % Complete, physical % complete and unit % complete by tring to do this would be like mixing apples, oranges and pears.

The summary band for either Schedule % complete or Performance % complete will always be calculated as

(BCWS  * 100) /BAC so it would be Budgeted Cost for Work Scheduled times 100 divided by Budget at Completion

if you are using physical % complete you can run a global change

where

duration % Complete equal physical % complete

I ran the Global change. But then the other WBSs which were showing some value for Duration % complete also increased to a non realistic value (66%), where most of the activities are not yet started / completed.

The program is not resource and cost loaded and hence i cant get the performance % complete.

Could you please suggest any other solution.

Thanks,

Paul.

Your Original duration and your remaing durations are equal causing the % complete to be equal.

Hence Performance % = Activity % Complete = Duration % Complete =  (OD - RD) /OD = 0%

to fix this run a global change

where

planned start = start
planned finish = finish

this will allow the WBS summary activity to calculate a correct Percent complete value
