Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

Hi Guys,

Cold we maintain the logic links in MSP program on importing to Primavera Ver 6.0.

I was trying to convert .MPP file using P3 , but was unable to make the conversion as the said format was not compatible.

Could anyone advise on this?

Thanks.

Actually P3 has problems with converting MS Project mpx. That is why we created separate P3 mpx export/import.
Besides it is necessary to avoid linking phases (summary tasks) in MS Project if it is planned to convert the schedules into other software.
Best Regards,

P6 should be able to read MPP files.
P3 reads older MPX file format but not MPP, you need a converter to convert MPP to MPX.

All file conversions can create problems but converting form MPX/MPP to P3/P6 is less problematic than going the other way. For example MS Project does not allows two links to the same predecessor while 3/P6 does. Therefore P3/P6 will have no problem with these links while MS Project will.
