Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

Hi,

I am a new Powerproject user and I was wondering if anyone may know where is the Macro Object library document specifically for PowerProject?

The Object Library document is needed to develop Macro's and Automation and I hope it is similar to the ones from Microsoft Project (link to the MSP object library below) But it doesn's seem to be found on the official website nor was it found in the HELP file.

The macros that I am looking to develop will be to collapse all summaries, (not just to certain levels, but collapse all levels, and simple macro to expand or collapse selected summary).

Much appreciated if anyone knows how to gain access to it.

Link to the Microsoft Project Object Library for reference

Hi John,

I don't recognize thise behaviour.

When You choose Show to one level or another level it show just untill the choosen level.

You can collapse or expand every level separatly by double klick on the summary task, or use the plus symbol in te name collumn.

Another way of working could be by using te Projectview on the left of your screen. By selecting a branche in the tree of expanding it by klicking the plus symbol, you will only show the content of that summary. Maybe you not aware of this because P6 and MS project don not have a Projectview.

I hope this helps.

Hi Gijs,

Thanks for your feedback. Much appreciated.

However, this isn't really what I am looking for though.

The outcome from just collapsing Level 0 is that only Level 0 is collapsed, when it is expanded, all the other summaries are expaneded.

I know this option is available on P6 and Microsoft Project (via macro) - all summary tasks collapsed.

Hopefully there is another solution to this?

Hi John,

You don't need to develop a Macro for this. It is standard in the software. You will find it in the ribbon in the Start Tab. Look for the function Show to Level. You can select to what level you want to collaps or expand. The selected chart in the projectview is Level 0.

Hint: Rightklick on one of the functions and choose "add to quick acces bar" and the button wil appear at the top of you screen. always visible and working!
