Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

Hi Shima

In P6 the 'Schedule % Complete' gives the Planned % Complete.---You have to save a copy of the programme as Baseline to get the correct schedule % complete.

Now at the activity level this % is based on durations. If you use the help hint the formula for calculation is clear...But at summary level the percentages are based on costs.

ie.. Planned Value Cost / Budget at Completion,,,, where Planned Value cost for each activity= Shedule % * Budget for the activity.

As such the  Schedule%  (Planned % ) can be compared to performance % complete and not to Duration % complete ---at summary levels.

The other way around is to create a copy of the programme and auto update actuals and take the Duration complete. This Duration % complete can be used as a Planned % to compare with Actual % if you have not loaded cost as such could not get performance % complete.

Now to combine both in the same layout is not possible as BL Duration % complete dont rollup at summary levels.

Hope this helps.

Regards

Shareef
