(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

Guys,

How can we put Target 1 and Target 2 in P6 just like in P3?

In P3 I use Target 1 Start/Finish date to compare with the actual start and Finish date. While in Target 2, I usually use it to compare the Planned % Comp with the Actual % Comp.

Thanks in advance

Is the Schedule % Complete equal to Planned % Comp in P3?
In P3 to get the Planned % Comp, I usually press CNTL F9, DATA DATE same as in the update.

In P3, when you assign target 1 and target 2, the column description will show, say, target 1 early start, target 2 early start, etc. In P6, I assign primary, secondary, but I cannot distinguish which is which

To put in in tabular form :

P3 vs P6
Update File Update File
Target 1 BL or BL1 or primary?
Target 2 BL1 or BL2 or secondary?
% Comp(For Update File) Activity % Comp?
% Comp (For Target 2) Schedule % Comp?
Target 1 Early Start BL Project Start?
Target 2 Early Start BL 1 Early Start?

To get Planned % Comp?

In P3-CNTRL F9 + CURRENT DATA DATE,

In P6 ?

Thanks again

Hi Florante,

Arnold is right.

Assuming that you’ve already assigned a baseline on your programme, this is the simple steps to display them:

1) Click View then Columns

2) Expand Dates option, then select to display the following:
- BL Project Start
- BL Project Finish
- Start
- Finish

3) Expand Percent Complete, then select to display the following:
- Schedule % Complete
- Activity % Complete

4) For Variance Analysis (Finish Dates / Duration), expand Duration, then select to display the following:
- Variance - BL Project Finish Date

5) Create a UDF and do Global Change for Variance % Complete

Best regards,

Go To Project -> Maintain Baseline for adding all baselines

and then Go To Project -> Assign Baseline to add, User, Primary, Secondary or tertiary baselines.

Hi Florante,

With P6, you don’t need to create a Target 2 schedule because, there is already available Schedule % Complete, when you assign a Target 1 schedule.
