Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

Hi

In P6 can you copy resources from activity to activity?

I know that you can’t do this in P5, but in P6 is it possible?

A couple of our guys went on a P6 course back in January and were sure they were shown how to do it, but can’t remember now.

Thanks

Neil

Maybe it’s not the way you intended.
View "Activities" --> On the right side of the Primavera Window you find the icon "Assign Resources". --> select the activities where you want to replace a resource (by filter or just manually) --> select the resource to be replaced --> Click onto the icon "replace" (just above the help-icon) --> select the resource to be assigned to those activities.
This window can remain open while you run different filters, sort or select different activities.

Ya it’s okey. Copy & Paste is almost the same with Cut & paste.

Hi Arnold

I can’t seem to get this to work. I just get a copy of the activity.

Hi Neil,

Yes you can.. Including Resources.

1. Open the two projects you wanted to cut & paste activity.
2. In P6 Activity Window, select the activity & right click select Cut.
3. Paste the cut activity into another project in the same activity window.

However, If you cut these activities & paste it to another project then you will loss these activities from its original project. To avoid this, make a backup copy of the original project.

HTH.

Perhaps I should have said move activities; e.g. cut them from one activity and paste on another.

What do you mean, copy resources from activity to activity?
You can copy the resources assigned to each activity if you will copy/paste the activities by checking all the boxes in Copy Activity option.
