While checking project integrity, there’s a check performed in P6, which says,

"Check WBS for: WBS Parent mis-match between WBS and WBS
>>>OK"

What is this? And which two WBS are matched here?

Even though it says OK, but still a curiosity!!!

Cheers,

Raviraj

Hi

It happened from time to time, especially if you experience problem to delete project in P5, that may be caused by WBS is currently assigend to another project.

Root cause - when copying projects if the project have notebook assoicated with the original WBS, sometime it will not move across during the copying (especially in P5 server)
Thats why in P6 they built in this check to ensure this is not happen.

The check passes when the parent wbs node referenced by a child has the same project id. It fails when the parent wbs node has a different project id.

I have seen this happen on occasion on high usage P3e sites, but haven’t seen it for a while. I suspect it was a check added due to a defect in the software that was proving difficult to track down.

Has anybody seen this in the more recent versions (P5 & P6)?

certainly, this things happen if your wbs number from parents to its successors do not match in sequence.
