Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

Hi All

I am currently working on a project, and on Tuesday I only had the Baseline, hence I ran timephased reports, for budgeted units etc via csv export however when I received the updated programme and ran reports off this the budgeted units were different when running the same report. I have also tried attaching the baseline to the updated programme and running off the reports. Can I be correct in thinking that the Updated programme was using a baseline that had been updated with new activities?

Thanks
All!

Kenny,
If you have run a report on Budgeted units it may very well be different to the baseline. The way Primavera uses the words Budget and basline can be confusing.

From my use of the tool the budgeted labor or non-labor units can be modified without regard to the baseline.

If you are going to run a report as you suggest, you need to run it on ’BL Project Labor/Non-labour Units’ which will be the approved baseline budget.

I have simply removed all of the ’Budget’ data from my views so I don’t get confused. I have also asked for a clarification from Primavera to explain their resons for calling the budget information budget, when all I’ve ever known as a budget is the approved baseline.

I’ll post their comments here if and when I get them.

Hi Kenny

Baselines are not touched by modifications of the main project.
I am afraid that I didn’t 100% understand your item. Did you check under Admin --> Preferences --> Earned Value the Earned Value Calculations. There might be the reason for your modified data.
