target bar doesn’t freeze

Hello Guys

Today I copied my project and set the copied one as a target.

Now, when I compare the schedule with the target in the bar chart, what happens is that every time I change the remaining duration on my schedule it takes effect also on the target bar. If for instance I update the schedule and the remaining duration became less then the Original Duration then the schedule bar become shorter (fair enought) but what happens is that even the target bar get shorter following the schedule bar.

Looking at the P3 example it doesn’t happen. The target bar remain what it was fixed to be and the target ES and target EF do not change at all.

Should I check some rule to freeze my target bar?

It is because he had early dates specified for the target bar, and not the target dates.

Is it a problem due to not saving as target project while the project is open?

The problem is probanbly, that when you created the target bar you did not set the required dates ti target 1 or 2 dates. Rightclick on the barchart area, then on Bars..., then on the target bar, and then on modify. Check under type that you have sppecified target 1 early start and finish.
