Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

Loss of WBS Name when importing into P6 from MS Excel

Hi

I am importing an MS excel file into P6. I have no issues with this.

However, when the excel file is imported, the WBS Name chages to the Master file name.

I cannot sort and filter the WBS in P6 as the WBS is lost.

Any help and suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks

Matthew Edwards

the first part of ALL wbs structure is ALWAYS the name of the Project ID this is what makes the activity id unique so that you can link different projects together that have the same activity id.

If the activities are already in there then just export them with the correct wbs

if the activites are not in there but the wbs is the easiest way to do this change the name of the projet to a single letter like the letter M

then when you add the activity the wbs will be M.whatever

hope this helps
