Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

I’ve purchased a new Laptop (Compaq nw9440) with Windows Vista Business, and now Project crashes each time I try to use Autofilter.
Is anyone else experiencing this issue ?

1. I was using MSP Standard 2002 with Service pack 1. It worked fine on my old laptop with XP. So the crashing is either the new Laptop or Vista.

2. So then I uninstalled MSP 2002 and loaded MSP Standard 2003 and experienced the same issue.

3. Then I downloaded Service Pack 3 for MSP 2003 and experienced the same issue.

Short of buying MSP 2007, I’m at a loss. I read somewhere that a Finger Print Reader can effect Autofilter ??

any error messages ?

OK.....

Now MSP is working great !!

I totally disabled (deleted) the finger print reader software which comes standard with the laptop (Compaq nw9440), and "Hey Presto", the Autofilter issue has disappeared.
