Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

Hi,

Is it poss. somehow to show the progress of a task graphically?

It would be nice if a symbol (like the diamond one used for the "milestone") can be used to show the progress along the Gannt Chart bar - can we do this in MSProject XP?

The standard MSProject Gantt chart should show progress graphically, as a solid black line through the middle of the Gantt task bar.

If you want to show the progress graphically on a Summary bar then in the Bar Styles dialogue box insert a new bar with what ever symbol you want to use, in the “Show for……Tasks” column put in “Summary” then in the “From” and “To” columns put “Complete through”. This will show your symbol in the summary bar at the % complete of that summary bar.

Remember that MSProject puts these formats on in order, top to bottom in the Bar Styles box, so if you want the whole symbol to show put it below the style for the Summary Bar.
