Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

Hi all

Working in Libya

Has any one had any experience in working in Libya? I was told recently that the global economic down turn has not affect them.

Thanks

Regards
Andrew

Worked on the Great Man-Made RIver Project for a year or so.
Not as bad as everyone makes out in Tripoli at least. We ahve offices all over the place. No trouble with religion, theft etc. No drinking - officially! But ways and means...
Fair few Roman sites to visit, etc., so a bit to do on Fridays.
Don’t know about the downturn but it probably doesn’t apply.
PM if you want more details of life out there
Cheers

the company I work for has a branch there since more than 30 years with some hundreds of employees. There are many projects in Libya.
Problem for us is more the lack of qualified persons than a lack of projects.
