Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

Hi, new to P6 and have just (well nearly) completed my first project update.

Stuck on a couple of issues

1. When i printed the report i noticed a couple of Activity ID Numbers have been partly erased and when i tried to add them back in it only allowed me to add up to 10 characters and not the full ID number of 12.

Do i need to remove the total activity and add it in again?

2. I need to add a Budgeted cost / Total Budgeted cost column but when i choose columns and cost there is not Budgeted cost available.

I am using v7 and in the Activity detail layout.

Thanks in advance for any help or suggestions.

Rick

Richard,

Go to Layout and Select Earned Value Analysis Layout from the Global.

On the Activity Pane right click and select columns.

It will show all listed columns on the right pane, try to find Budgeted Total Cost, it might be renamed.

Hope this will help.

Sir,

How come sir that there is no Budgeted Total Cost in your column? Maybe someone renamed the Budgeted Total Cost and you cannot find it. But, anyway, If your project has not been started, you can use first the BL Total Cost and rename it as Budgeted Total Cost.

I hope this can help.

Raymund,

Thanks for the reply, i have adjusted the ID length.

The budgeted total cost column is definately not in my column, cost options, do i need to be in a certain layout to obtain this?   there is a planned total cost!

Also how do i remove the date from the task bars but keep the Activity name.

Thanks in advance

Richard

Richard,

1. Adjust ID length in Admin Preferences.

2. Budgeted Total Cost is available.
