Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

Hi All,

I'm just starting out using P6 (No prior experience with the software). Is there a definitive book or guide that is a must have?

Any ideas on the best places to find online tutorials, step by step guides etc...

Many thanks

Hi Duncan,

The book by Paul Harris is pretty basic and at around £45 new (when I purchased it!) is fankly over priced.   I have always found the P6 manual in PDF a very good resource to have.  If you want a copy, drop me a line and I will send you a copy.  The best way I found to learn the fundimental aspects of the software is to go through the book and make your own notes.

Regards

Simon

Duncan

There is a book called Project Planning and Control Using Primavera P6 by Paul E Harris, you shuold be able to find it on Amazon or the like, that's ok for the basics or to be used as a reference if you get stuck.  But i think the best way is just using the software and consulting the forums when you get stuck.  You may also want to consider the Oracle (or training partner) led courses, i've never been on one myself but i believe they are very good and you also receive a training manual.
