Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

Hi,

I am using P5 & while trying to import a microsfot project (.mpp), I am getting the following error. Can anyone help?

"Cannot Save Project. Microsoft Office Project does not support saving projects into ODBC, MPD or MDB formats. Please save the file in a format that is supported by project"

Thanks & Regards
Naveen

Hi

Open your MS Project and save the file as XML format .While importing in P6 use Microsoft Project option and select XML Mode of importing

Naveen,
P5 only support MS Project 2003 below. If you have MS Project 2007 then you will not be able to import MPP.

You need to have MSP on the same machine as P5 in order to import the .mpp files.

Check you have.
