Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

Hi Mai,
Another way is highlight all columns with date that need to change on exported excel file then press ctrl+h (find & replace). Find what: enter ’ (hyphen), Replace: (let it blank) then click replace all. All text date will become date format. On the blank cell with the same row enter a formula = (old date) + (date equivalent to six month).
Or you can use global change.
Create a UDF with new Start Date and new Finish Date
Run global change Actual Start = new Start Date
Actual Finish = new Finish Date.

Hi Mai,

In addition to Alex, if you have a long list of activities that you need to change the actual dates, you could utilize the Export/Import facility.

All the dates when exported to excel will display in text format. All you have to do is to convert these texts into numbers in order for you to make a formula so you can change it to your desired dates. You could do the following in Excel to convert the dates into numbers.

 Open your exported Excel file.
 Select any empty cell. Right-click and select Copy. This will copy the empty cell…
 Then, select ALL the dates. Right-click and select Paste Special.
 In the Paste Special dialog box, under Operation select Add. Click ok.

This will convert the dates into Excel sequential date format. But, don’t worry you can format these numbers into your preferred date format by Format Cell.

Regards,
Louie

Hi mai,

is it not possible just to do this on the status tab with Primavera. If you need to cnage the dates, uncheck the Finished or started box next to the dates and then change them as you need?
