Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

Importing Data form excel sheet into P6

Hi All

I have problem while importing a new project from excel sheet into P6.

The message display.
"
The user preference used to create the Excel file could not be found.

Importing this file could corrupt your data.

Please refer to primavera help for more information about importing data from xcl.

Are you sure that you want to continue"

while i hit yes the next activity wizard is diactivated.

i try to fix the problem but i fail.

i went in Admin then User there is setting admin --superuser..

Please help me put to fix the problem.

Thanks so much i did the same it is working fine.


only think while i am importing a new project i mean in new EPS nod it is not working.

during the import i am try to
"modify existing update project"
to new project it also not changing.

while importing it is going in same EPS NOD i want to import under the other EPS nod

Please again advise

Hi Shahzad,

You are trying to import from Excel to P6 with incorrect format.

Before importing from Excel to P6 make sure that the format came from P6 to Excel then export it back to P6.
