Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

Hello Guys,
I am working on n Engineering Project.
The deliverables progress are captured in Excel for onward tranmital to P6. My colleague is asking me to use duration % complete type which I have never use in any of my previous scheduling softwares.
Which is the best % complete type to use in a project and why?
At what time do we use a certain % complete type?

Hi Julius,

I’ve noticed that this has been posted twice, I’m assuming in error, would you mind if I deleted the other posting?

Thanks,

David.

Hi Julius,

It depends on your requirements:

1. If you have assign steps to your activities then the best way is to use physical % complete.
2. If it is resource loaded then unit % complete and physical % complete.
3. If no resources at all then you can use duration % complete or physical % complete.

Regards,

Arnold
