Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

I have been looking around for a good explanation on the percent complete type and duration type settings. I have a pretty good idea about how they work and when to assign what, but would love to have a direct explanation from someone who actually worked with them.

Thanks in advance,

Mike

if you want to use earned value you have to use for percent complete however this does not update the remaining duration or your actual units so you can run a global change

where physcial % complete is greater than 0

then duration % complete = physical % complete

for duration type if you do not want you labor units determining your durations use fixed duration and units/time

if you want your durations determined by the resource then use fixed duration & units
