Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

Hi Sat,

There is another way of doing it, provided you should have P3.

1. Export the file from P6 to P3... (say project name "PRG1" in Folder 1)

2. Create another program using P3 with SAME PROJECT NAME (PRG1) in another location ( say in Folder 2).

3. Copy "PRG1REL.P3" from Folder 2 and replace it with the one in Folder 1.

4. Import the program back to P6.

5. You will see that all relations are gone.

Hope this helps.

Thank you, i shall try it.

otherway i resolved it is through the same export and import but to change the activity code in excel and remove the predecessor and successor and import. This way i have a new set with new activity id, then filter and remove the old ones. this works.

Dear all,
But now the case Sat facing that he would like unlink all relationships, taking in consideration that P6 does not include UNLINK option.

To solve this Sat, you may export the whole relations to excel. In the excel sheet, put D or d in front of all relations under the column titled ’Delete This Row’
Save it and close. Import it to P6 again. You will find 0 relations.
Try it and give me your feedback.

When there are too many changes in the logics & especially if its a large project with more than 10,000 activities, we would always feel that its better to remove the existing links & establish the new ones than edit the existing links.

In this context the unlink function would be quite beneficial.

Hi.
What a pity I do not have chance to study "unlink" function in P3. Can you present its benefit?
