Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

Yeah, but to use API, you need to program with Java. If you are using Visual Basic, C#, then you have two options only:

1. Using SDK
2. Direct database access

Actually SDK is a kind of direct db access but it enforces the business rules at least.

There are also 3rd party tools translating Java interfaces to .NET interface, but they are costly and I dunno if it works 100%.

Hope this helps,

Hi Zhang.
You’re right. In order to programming using object oriented ,you have to use Primavera Integrated API.
It’s a included module with Primavera on CD4.
Thanks

i’m using P5. It seems the SDK is ODBC-based. it does not have a object model as RA.

Yes, it is true, you can still program in vba (in excel or word for example), or produce seperate vb6, vb.net, c# programs.

Yes, it is exactly the same as RA, but better. After installation of SDK, you can find information about it at:

C:\Program Files\Common Files\Primavera Common\PMSDK\Doc

Hope this helps,
