Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

This is actually not a ‘bug,’ just a perceived one. Starting with Version 5, Primavera stopped deleting the early and late dates stored in the database for actual activities It comes as a surprise to everyone but the software industry that completed activities also have ‘float.’

What Primavera forgot to do in their P5 release was to blank out the float column for completed activities. This caused quite a stir in the Users’ World as they were not used to seeing completed activities with float. Very soon after the release of P5, Primavera released Service Pack 1 that corrected this ‘error’ by not printing the float for completed activities. The values still exist in the database, they just are not shown anymore using SP1.

OOPS - I have not made clear that it is "retained logic" that exhibits this problem "progress override" and "actual dates" do not.

its a known "bug". If you schedule using "progress override" or "actual dates" rather than "retained logic" - you find these selections under scheduling options. PO and AD do dreadfull things to your schedule if you have out-of-sequence progress - but thats the only issue.
