Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

SHAHZAD,

IF YOU HAVE NOT YET STARTED THE ACTIVITY, YOU CANNOT SHOW ITS PROGRESS ON THE CURRENT ACTIVITY BAR. BUT IF YOU ARE PRESENTING YOUR LAYOUT WITH TARGET / BASELINE COMPARISON THEN YOU CAN SHOW THE PROGRESS FOR THIS ACTIVITY ON THE TARGET / BASELINE BAR.

FOR THIS:

1 - ASSIGN TWO TARGET SCHEDULES TO THE CURRENT SCHEDULE

2 - TARGET 1 THE ORIGINAL BASELINE

3 - TARGET 2 UPDATE BASELINE WITH SAME DATA DATE AS THE CURRENT PROGRESS UPDATED SCHEDULE

4 - USING THE FORMAT COLUMNS OPTION YOU CAN DISPLAY THE REQUIRED INFORMATION:: ACT ID - DESCRIPTION - TAR1 ORG DUR - ORG DUR - REM DUR - ACT DUR - TAR2 % COMP - % COMP - TAR2 ES - TAR2 EF - ES - EF - TAR1 TOTAL FLOAT - TOTAL FLOAT - VAR TAR 1 EF

5 - GO TO "FORMAT - BARS" IN THE FORMAT WINDOW THAT OPENS CHECK VISIBLE FOR ONLY EARLY BAR REMOVE VISIBLE FOR OTHER BARS (OR DELETE THEM)

6 - FROM THE DROP DOWN ARROW SELECT TAR 2 AND ADD A BAR GIVE ITS POSITION AS 2 MAKE SURE THE "PROGRESS" BOX IS CHECKED / TICKED

CLOSE THE FORMAT BARS WINDOW.

THE CURRENT EARLY BARS AND THE TARGET BARS WILL BE VISIBLE IN THE BAR AREA. IF THE TARGET BARS ARE NOT VISIBLE, THE GO TO FORMAT - ROW HEIGHT AND INCREASE THE ROW HEIGHT FOR ALL BARS TILL YOU SEE THE TARGET BARS.

THE TARGET BARS WILL APPEAR BELOW THE CURRENT BARS. IN THE EXAMPLE YOU HAVE GIVEN, THE EARLY BAR OF THE ACTIVITY WILL BE SHIFTED TO 22/2/2011 OR ANY OTHER DATE LATER THAN THE DATA DATE (OR IN RELATION TO LINKS WITH PREDECESSORS). THE TARGET BAR FOR THIS ACTIVITY WILL BE BELOW THIS EARLY BAR AND WILL START FROM 1/11/2010 UPTO 08/06/2011 AND WIL HAVE PROGRESS SHOWING ON THE BAR. MAKE SURE TO FORMAT ALL TARGET BARS IN GREY COLOR SO THAT OTHERS WILL NOT CONFUSE WHAT THEY ARE. THE PROGRESS ON THE TARGET BARS WILL APPEAR IN BLUE.

I HOPE THIS ANSWERS UR QUESTION.

BEST REGARDS,

FAZEEL
