Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

Hello everyone..
Finally I’ve done my Primavera project after a very hard work during the last week, but unfortunately I’m facing a trouble that when I schedule the program and select today data date for example as scheduling date, then the progress runs thru the whole project effectively but unfortunately the Percentage Complete of the activities not change to show the progress that should be done in the project!! ..

Please if anybody can tell what I do to activate the percentage complete of the activity whenever I schedule the program?

Thank you for your help in advance..

Regards,
Salah

Hi Salah,

I’ve noted your statement "TO SHOW THE PROGRESS THAT SHOULD BE DONE IN THE PROJECT".

I guess you wanted to know the PLANNED PROGRESS during a particular date.

In such case, to do this, you can run UPDATE PROGRESS command in the TOOLS menu. On the pop-up, enter the data date you want. Select whether you want estimated progress for all activities, or just the selected ones. To select the activities, just hi-light them. Then run UPDATE.

I would suggest however that you do this operation on a separate back-up copy of your baseline program.

Best regards,

Gerry

Salah,

P3 is not like MS Project; it does not tell you how far you should be. Instead, you have to tell it how far you have gone. P3 is not a clock on the wall telling you the time. It is a ruler against the wall which tracks how tall you are growing.

You must enter status for each activity as it starts, progresses, and completes. You need to enter Actual Start dates, Remaining Duration, and finally Actual Finish Dates as appropriate. Then you press the F9 (recalculation) key and the program tells you where you stand. Good luck!
