Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

OK, I’ve searched the forum for answers on this but have come up empty handed. Here’s my situation;

- I am using P3 on a network license
- I have installed Pervasive ODBC drivers on my workstation using Paul Harris’ guide.
- All goes to plan until I press "OK" on the Microsoft ODBC Interface for Windows, I get a message "Login must succeed before data source entry can be written (Status code:802)"

Looking through the Help file on the dialog, it suggests that the source file must be logged into. This I assume to be the P3 files. I have tried entering my username / pwd in the Security section of th dialog, but the same error message comes up. Sometimes this then seems to precipitate an error message the next time I try to start P3, but starting P3 from the root, instead of the DT shortcut seems to clear that. From this, I assume that the ODBC thing has tried to log into P3, but I’m not really sure what’s going on.

Can anyone be of any help on this one?

Cheers
