Dear all;

I don’t have P3 installed on my PC. I’m trying to import a P3 file but P3e shows this massage:

"Unknown error reported by P3 engine"

Do anyone know why is it happening??

I have already tried P3toP3econvert.exe but did’nt work, same error.

Regards.

Hi

As far as I know it is not neccessary it is only neccessary to have the btrieve database engine.

I am sure that the problems come with access privs on the PC. Do you have administrator rights on the PC you use.

Good Luck

Thanks Peter;

I’m going to try your solution.

I have a reply saying that P3 must be installed to import P3 from P3e.

By your reply, it is not necessary.

So, Is it necessary or not??

Thanks again and regards.

Hi

Check that the btrieve home directory is set OK.

It is possible that the default installation has set the btrieve home value to a directory where you do not have rights to create a file. The import then fails because the trace file cannot be opened.

There should be a utility on your PC called w32mkset which can be usedc to view and set the btrieve options.

Other than that I have seen this problem where the P3 files have a link to a graphic file that does not exist and where access rights are incorrectly set.

Good Luck
