Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

I have made wbs for a project as under:
1. Construction of Building
2. Phase 1
3. phase 2
4. Externat Works

My problem is that when I organize Level I with TOTAL the Final date is only shown of WBS 1,2 and 3 without Externatl Works Final date?

Why this happens? Why External Final date is not shown in Level total?

Please suggest me a way so that Level cover whole 1,2,3 and 4 wbs dates:

Its urgent plz

Can also update activities using Global Change i.e. SS(WBS,x,y) where x is start position including the separators and y is length.

To update the dictionary see knowledge base article 200252492644 and use Project.xls to export the WBS codes and tiles, then massage this to conform to a previously saved activity code format and then import the activity codes and titles.

Work in a copy or make sure you have good backups before you start.

There are some spreadsheets (activity.xls) provided with the P3 installation CD, which with a bit of tweaking would let you do this.

Hi John

In my view your WBS coding and defining is not correct which needs to be reviewd that’why when you organize, it does not cover the FINAL date of whole project.

Moreover send me your copy of P3 file for correcting this error.

Try organizing first by Project with totals then by WBS. In this way (organizing by activity codes) you make sure you are adding a level above all WBS codes, totals will roll up to the project level. If this works then check on your WBS structure.

Have a look at your wbs Structure I think the problem is there.

Standard P3 setting will not allow this to work correct. (10)

Data - WBS - Structure

Also remember to look at organize and total at the different levels

(Sorry for the duplicated postings since a book falls on the keyboard when I editing.)

Consider the WBS as follows: -
1. Construction of Building
1.1 Phase 1
1.2 Phase 2
1.3 External Works

According to your listed, all 4 items are in Level 1.
would you mind list the WBS value against the item for further details
