Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

I have recently faced with a challenge to quantify the percentage of out of sequence activities in the schedule.

1. What is the typical amount of out of sequence activities that you would see.
2. Are there any publications that support what is acceptable.
3. I feel about 10-15% is acceptable.

Thanks
Raj

This thread is not specific to P3 and should be posted in the Project Management Issues Discussion Forum.

As You say I would like to see as less as possible.
More than give a percentage on number of activities I think it would be better on volume of work or effort required for the activity. Just to do not have strange peak of reasoruce in my schedule for the next updtae time period.
Just a remind when You have 3 activities A, B, C with finish start link, if for example B start, before A, in the progress You progress B activity good, but You have at least to make a new link f-s between A and C, if You do not want time by time look after the logic.
This could be fine for few time periods, after a revise in the logic I think is necessary, to re-arrange the resources required and not have impossible achievable peak in fron and a better estimation at completion.
