Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

How many are reading all of the technical articles concerning CCPM (Critical Chain Project Method)? What is everyone's thought on this?

It is not only about which procedure is better but about CCPM being flawed.

CCPM proposes that Critical Chain shall never change and this is a major flaw!

For reliable project management it is necessary to create and to manage contingency reserves (buffers). If your software includes risk management capabilities and calculates required contingency reserves then use Success Driven Project Management (http://spiderproject.com/images/img/pdf/SDPM%20Approach%20to%20project%2...).

But if you manage your projects without the software then CCPM is fine. You will create some initial schedule and add buffers to keep it stable. And then instead of rescheduling you will consume buffers. Easy and nice solution.

And of course in any case resource constraints shall be taken into account. So CPM is not the right term because classical Critical Path Method does not consider resource constraints. Good schedule is leveled and Resource Critical Path (or Critical Chain) replaces classical Critical Path.
