Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

Hi All. Can anyone please help? I am trying to creat a level of effort activity and have linked it as a SS with its predecessor and FF with its successor both with zero lag. When I schedule, the level of effort activity only shows the start date as start and finish date with zero duration. I have tried putting the number of duration and finish date manually but it goes back to showing start date with zero duration and a negative float of 1 as soon as as I schedule. Please help. Cheers! Patosaks

LOE is what P6 calls a hammock.

Hi Gary

Thanks for the information - why not just create a hammock?

Best regards

Patrick:

the LOE Start date will be the earliest start date of all the SS predecessors of the LOE

the LOE finish date will be the latest finish date of all the FF predecessors of the LOE

Mike:

Patrick is using FF for a LOE (level of effort) activity. These are hamock-type activities in P6 typically used for spreading non-direct resources / prelims, and require FF to operate correctly

Hi Patrick

I can think of no situation in the construction process that requires a FF link.

Perhaps you can enlighten me why you need it.

Best regards

Thanks Garry.

In that case the LOE activity will assume the very 1st activity date as it's start date right?

cheers!

Patrick,

The FF relationship needs to be a predecessor instead of a successor.

LOEs should not have any successors.

Cheers,
