I work in the U.K and a work permit as you,ve been told is a requirement to carry out work activities in the U.K. There are two practical ways of doing this. The first is you being sponsored by an employing company for a work permit. The other is going for the highly skilled migrant visa. I am on that visa as well. You do not need an employer to get that visa.If you can contact me on jdadzok@yahoo.com, I would give you the information needed to secure an hsmp visa to work in the u.k. I was lucky enough to be involved with Australia as well.I would send needed information on both countries when you respond.Cheers and good Luck in your search.

if u want to work in GCC countries, before applying for a job, u dont require a work permit visa.
In Australia, u need to have a Permanent residence Visa before applying for a job.
In most of other countries, u need to apply for a visa under high skilled migration program (HSMP visa).
Cheers,
Ravi
