Hi guys, In P6 8.1, I found something strange with activity suspension; when I have updated the schedule with DD – 14/Feb/14 I found one activity to be suspended from 28/Feb/14 till 15/Mar/14. After entering the suspension and resume dates, when I reschedule the activity moves and it shows that the remaining job to be performed only after 15/Mar/14 onwards. It doesn’t shows the work to be performed between data date and suspension date (14/Feb/14 ~ 28/Feb14). This is affecting the resource distribution as well; have any of you experienced this? Advise if you have any suggestions to fix / get rid-off this problem. Regards, Abilash

For the suspend-resume activity, keep following the predecessors back until you find a relationship that eliminates the suspend-resume situation when you change the relationship. The newer versions of Primavera seem to be more sensitive to continuity of the start-finish relationships in a path.

Hi Abhi,

- If the suspend/resume functionality is used then the early start is set equal to the resume date, its design for work in this     way only .

Also you should know; - The early finish is calculated using the resume date and the remaining duration.- If the suspend date is entered without a resume date then, P6 ignores the suspend date.- Units and costs are not spread over the period of suspension.- P6 calculates an actual duration for all activities based on the amount of non-suspended time.- The amount of time that an activity’s progress is suspended is generally deducted from the total duration. - Ravi

Hi Abilash / Mike,

I'm also experiencing the same issue! I checked all the settings and calendars and it still shows inactive period between the datadate and suspend date. Is yours resolved or you still have the problem? Please help / advise.

Regards, Nima

Hi Abilash

Check your calendars both on the task and resource allocations.

Best regards
