Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

Hi

We have tried creating .mpx files from suretrak v3.0c, we are doing this by "Save As" .MPX.

When we try to open these with MS Project 2000 SR1 (or 2003) we are getting Errors.

Either Macro Errors or errors regarding memory.

This used to work but does not seem to.

Thanks in anticipation

Going from SureTrak to MSP is always a problem as SureTrak is richer in scheduling functionality, such as allowing two relationships per task and two relationships per task which MSP does not allow and creates error messages.

There is a technical article on my web site, at www.eh.com.au. which may help you

hi guys

you do need project 98 to be able to save an mpx file format, which you can then open up in Suretrak, I think there is an mpx translator on the primavera website but not sure,

You’re dead right it doesn’t work. MSP no longer supports mpx files and hasn’t since, I think, MSP 98. You can copy/paste the data via excel and import it that way. but you’ll need separate file for activities and relationships and, probably, constraints.

Best of luck.
