Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

"SS+Lag" or "FF"

Hello
Each project manager prefers to see parallel tasks instead of long chains of FS linked tasks.
Especially when tasks are not very small deliverables, there is always the choice to choose SS+Lag or FF instead of FS relationship.
Example: Instead of waiting for AFC foundation drawing, Structural design can start almost a week after start of foundation design (when calculations are available).
I always wonder which link is the best for this purpose (SS+Lag or FF).

What is your experience?

Have fun

Activity finish is more important to deliver the project in time so better to use FF and take care of lag (counting as per default caleneder as Bernard said). But there is no harm to use SS with lag to keep Project Managers happy.

Unless you are using MS Project you should use both!

You may want to do some testing with lags and MS Project if you are using multiple calendars. You may get unexpected results. It appears to use the default project calendar for lags irrespective of the calendars for the tasks being connected by the relationship.
