Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

Dear,

I used to set in the file/ options / schedule : default start time, default end time , hours per day, hours per week , days per month at the very beginning . Then I set up different calendars for different tasks. However, some calendars may have different start time, end time hours per week with previous file/ option setting. This would come out with duration in decimal places. Please advise.

Regards,

Gary Lo

Durations have decimals because the definition of how many hours make a day, a week or a month is set in the File > Options > Schedule.

E.g. if you've defined Hours per day as 8, and you've a 12-hour task, the duration of that task in days is 1.5 days irrespective of calendar Start & Finish times.

You are better off keeping all durations in hours or keeping all calendars with same Start & Finish times.
