Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

Hi,

I’m started with powerdraw to make a own template. Now i want to add own information like Project number/Version/ Authorised by, etc.
So i need about 18 custom fields/tokens to add to the layout.

How can i make this easy for my users to fill in automatic?

Plz help me :)

Hi Friso

Nothing in this world is perfect.

We all use our own methods to work around software shortcomings.

so - whatever butters your muffin then go for it.

Mike,

thnx for the advice!

The last update from powerdraw is from 2002 we are living in 2010! :

- Image format only in .wmf/.bmp
- it is hard to position @ the good coordinates ( i used the notpad editor to get it fixed)
- Not easy to make custom fields

Hi Tom - Friso

You are right not to put email addresses on the open forum - use the private message system.

Best regards

Mike Testro.

PS when I first used powerproject the border configuration file started with an asterix * and you hade to build up your border using BASIC language from that.

I agree, it can be frustrating at times. The biggest one for me is small alignments that can be very difficult to achieve, and then SAVE. PowerDraw likes to nudge boxes, charts etc a few mm on previewing. You can spend ages getting everything looking right, only to preview to see some items have moved.

I usually just have to accept a version that is 98% of what I intended...

Hi Friso

Works well enough for me - what are you expecting it to do?

Hi Frisa - Welcome to Planning Planet

Set up a text box in the border file and type the required heading - leave a space and hit F9.

I list of preset hyperlinks is displayed from within the Project Properties or Chart Details.

These can be filled in from each chart.

Don’t forget to "Embed" the border file so it stays with the chart wherever you send it.

Best regards
