Site Cost Lead, Tecnicas Reunidas, LNG Seagas Damietta (Egypt)
I worked as the LSTK EPC contractor for construction of LNG Train in Damietta, Egypt. Project was a JV of KBR, JGC, Tecnicas Reunidas, and M.W. Kellogg. This project was extremely schedule driven, and the challenge was to reduce project costs without impacting the overall progress. I did this through rigorous change management, detailed cost control down to WBS+5 level, and a very indepth manpower plan to ensure the right mix of talent stayed on the project.
Initially hired to manage site indirect budget of $15m USD, I was promoted onsite to Lead Cost Engineer and managed all subcontractor and site cost (direct and indirect labour).
Primary duties included:
Control, Estimating and Forecast of all site costs.
Cost Control Reporting.
Establish and control of budget for Vendor technical assistance at site during installation and startup.
Verification of scope within each major equipment package purchase order and allotment of provisional sums for possible cost over-runs.
Assist Main Subcontract Administrator in control of subcontracts, both in scope of work and in cost variances.
Cost Risk analysis for direct, indirect, and construction supervision costs.
Developed interface system that allowed for communicating between the different accounting systems used within the consortium member companies.
