The B38 project’s aim is to safely retrieve radioactive waste from an old building whilst mitigating explosion risk during retrievals due to the decomposition of magnox swarf producing hydrogen.

Employed as a Project Manager for 4 projects (total value £2M P/A) under the B38 Retrievals portfolio including bi-monthly progress reporting to Senior Management for the whole of the portfolio (value £20M P/A). Project responsibilities included development of the Life-Time Plan, progress & change control, obtaining quotations, raising external orders, explaining variances, forecasting using Earned Value (EV) techniques & chairing risk analysis meetings to generate a contingency fund. Portfolio responsibilities included; chairing meetings, challenging Project Managers to explain their EV figures, compiling EV figures across all 15 projects within the portfolio & explaining the EV figures by project. Identified profiling issues between the contract detailed & the summary (as issued to the client the NDA) plan & advised of how best to report this to the client. Recognized as a local expert in EV reporting.
